The problem
Artists and clients needed a marketplace that could handle identity, appointments, messaging, and finding work by visual style, not only keyword search. File storage and search had to stay cheap and reliable as media grew.
What I built
I owned the Spring Boot API surface: users, Apple SSO and passkeys, artists, appointments, chat, push/email notifications, with JPA/Hibernate persistence. A Python FastAPI CLIP service wrote embeddings into Qdrant for image similarity search. Object files went to Supabase Storage (S3-compatible). Playwright and API tests wrapped the critical backend flows. Frontend was Nuxt; my ownership stayed on the backend.
Effect
Clients could browse and book through a real production API. Visual search let people find artists by style instead of guessing tags. Auth covered modern sign-in paths (Apple SSO, passkeys) without bolting them on later.
